The children's safety and well being is absolutely central to what we do at Latimer. The school works hard to ensure that we keep our young people safe, both inside and outside of school.
A full programme of child protection training is delivered to all staff on a 3 year basis. In addition, there is staff refresher training each year and when new staff Latimer. Latimer follows Leicestershire County Councils lead in protecting our children and is proud to be one of the first holders of the Leicestershire E-Safety Award, which recognises our commitment to protecting our children online.

Keeping safe and happy is a central theme to our school assemblies on a Monday. Children are asked to choose 3 safe people, who they can go to with their concerns. Our Simple Truths remind children how to behave, however if bullying does take place we have a clear procedure for staff to follow to ensure any issues are throughly investigated and dealt with promptly.
We also work closely with Leicestershire Police, Fire and Rescue services. The chidlren
receive regular assemblies from ourselves on issues such as stranger danger, road safety
and firework and halloween safety. This is then reinforced by visits from our emergency
(including PROTECT) and in year 6 all children attend the warning zone.
